Obituary
On the evening of Thursday March 9, 2023, Ted, much loved husband of Elaine (nee Budd), passed away at his home. Ted was surrounded by love with his wife and family members at his side.
Ted worked in the moving and courier business all his life. Ted owned & operated Speedway Transfer. He was very much a people person and made many friends over the years and he was also a very hard worker.
Ted loved to tease and one of his favorite sayings was; “Gives me a great deal of pleasure to say “Good-bye to you” and he would have a big smile on his face.
Ted was looking forward to be able to celebrate his and Elaine’s 50th Wedding Anniversary this coming August.
Ted & Elaine had season tickets for both the Blue Bombers and the Winnipeg Jets for many years. They made it to 3 different Grey Cup games with Tom & Di. Going out to dinner with his wife Elaine and Saturday nights were their date nights and will be missed.
Ted is survived by his wife, best friend and love of his life Elaine. He is also survived by his brothers Terry, Tim (Penny), brother & sister in-law Terry & Sharon, sister-in-law Joanne, many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and extended relatives. Ted was also looking forward to the arrival of a great great niece.
Ted was predeceased by his parents Gordon & Shirley Miles, sisters-in-law Mary Miles & Dianne Budd, brother-in-law Bruce Budd and by his father & mother-in-law Milt & Bernice Budd.
Thank you to family members for their help and support the last twelve months. Thank you also to the homecare nurses, especially Rachael and Melissa and to the palliative care team. Ted liked them all and looked forward to their daily visits.
A Celebration of Ted’s life will be held on Saturday May 6, 2023 at 1:00 pm in the Willmor Chapel, Glenboro, MB with Sharon Hamilton officiating. Interment will take place in the Budd family plot at the Glenboro Cemetery. Following the interment, a reception will be held in the Christian Education Building. Everyone is welcome.
