Passed away peacefully after a valiant struggle with illness, on Wednesday March 22nd, 2023, at the age of 84. Loving husband to Donna (nee Taylor), with whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage. Loved dad to Debra (Robert) Latremouille and Gary (Lydia) Clark. Adored grandpa to Anthony (Kimberly) Clark, Matthew Clark, Allison Clark, Alexandra Latremouille, Lindsay Lozon (Tim Finn), Amanda (Diehl) Stacey and Melanie (Craig) Zink, Vonda (Andre) Samson, and Jessica (Shawn) Squire. Beloved great-grandpa to many and one little one on the way. Dearest son to the late Howard and Hazel Clark. Gordon will be missed by his cousins Ruth Ann (Jim) Pasley and their family, Eric (Helen) Johnson and their family and by his many friends and neighbours. Gordon was a lifelong third generation farmer on the Clark homestead in Raleigh Township, a dedicated employee with Campbell Soup retiring after 30 years of service. Gordon was also a former fire fighter and Chief of the North Raleigh Fire Department and a lifetime member of Wesley United Church. If you desire, memorial donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by his family. Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington St. West, Chatham, 519-352-2710, with visiting on Sunday March 26th, 2023 from 4 to 8 pm. A celebration of Gordon’s life will be conducted in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday March 27th, 2023 at 2 pm with Susan Scaman. Cremation to follow. Gordon’s cremated remains will be interred in the Clark family plot with his parents and grandfather in Maple Leaf cemetery at a later date. Gordon’s family would like to send a very special thank you to all the staff at Riverview Gardens 4W. Your kindness and compassion will always be remembered. Rest easy dad, your worries are over. Put your tractor in the shop, your work here is done. We will all miss you.
