TRACHSELL, Glenn – passed away peacefully on January 16th, surrounded by his loving family. In his 95th year, Glenn led a great life filled with love.
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Edith and his children and grandchildren who he thought the world of – Sherri Trachsell, Stacey and Paul Mowbray, Andrew and Joy Trachsell, and grandchildren, Jamie Mowbray, Holly Mowbray and Alex Trachsell.
Glenn was born to Washington and Catherine Trachsell of Shakespeare, the youngest of 6 children. He was predeceased by his brothers, Harvey, Cliff, Melvin, Woodrow and his sister Doreen and their spouses.
He and Edith met in Hamilton, where he started his career at London Life. The company asked him to move to Kitchener in 1971, where he continued his successful career. After retiring, Glenn never sat idle. He quickly learned and embraced the use of computers and technology. He invented many things and secured patents. He helped others with their technology problems and anything else they asked of him. He traveled extensively with Edith. He wrote stories of his childhood and growing up in Shakespeare – he was so proud of his extended family and his roots.
We will miss his self deprecating humor, his infectious laugh, his love of people, his never ending curiosity, but most of all his gentle and caring soul. We were so lucky to have had Glenn in our lives.
A “Celebration of Life” visitation will be held in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Friday January 20th, from 1 to 3 pm. Burial will follow in South Easthope Cemetery, Shakespeare.
