Obituary of Gerald Robert “Gerry” Beer
A longtime resident of St. Thomas, Gerry passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Monday, March 27, 2023, at the age of 70. Loved brother of Linda Lee (Greg), and Richard “Dicky” Beer. Dear uncle of Trisha Grouette (Jason) and Steven Lee (Sarah), and their families. Born in St. Thomas, November 27, 1952, he was a son of the late Sally (née Melnyk) and Donald Beer.
Gerry was a former employee of Clark Equipment and Freightliner, St. Thomas. He loved to hunt and fish and spent much time enjoying these sports with his brother and friends. An avid golfer, Gerry often travelled down south to golf with his many friends. He lived his life his way.
He requested cremation take place and there be no visitation or service. To honour Gerry, please raise a glass to him (whether it be coffee or stronger) and remember your shared good times. Memorial donations to the charity of one’s choice will be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements entrusted to the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160).
