Gerald (Jerry) René Arseneau
Peacefully at home, with his loving family at his side, on Tuesday March 7, 2023 at the age of 79 years. Gerald Arseneau of Pembroke, beloved husband of Mary Arseneau (nee McLaughlin). Jerry is survived by his sons Matthew (Robyn) and David Arseneau. Jerry was a loving father of Bernie Morton (Tricia), Michelle Pollock(Rob) and James Morton. Loving grandpa to Dylan and Evan Arseneau, Ethan Lambie, Wyatt, Daniel and Benjamin Morton, Jack, Sabrina and Sophia Pollock. Jerry was a dear brother to Claude Arseneau (Mary), Dianne Nash (James), Michael Arseneau (Gail) and Christine Page (John). Son of the late René and Dora (nee Vienneau) Arseneau. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Jerry, raised in Bathurst, New Brunswick, was a passionate teacher and lover of the outdoors and sports. He actively coached numerous minor sports teams & contributed to the local hockey community by helping to organize many of the region’s hockey tournaments. He cared deeply for his family and loved to entertain by regaling everyone with his many jokes and grand tales.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of Jerry’s personal support workers, the paramedics and to the HISH program for their care and compassion during his illness.
In memory of Jerry, donations to The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Canada and Carefor Pembroke-Renfrew County would be greatly appreciated.
As per Jerry’s request, cremation will take place and there will be a Celebration of Life planned for summer this year.
