Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gary Pearce Cooper. He passed peacefully away on April 4, 2023 at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. He was 67 years of age. Gary has battled brain and lung cancer since July 2022. He fought this disease valiantly for 8 months. His wife of 20 years, Carla, was by his side day and night providing the best of care to his every need. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Instilling in his children a tremendous work ethic as they watched him work tirelessly each day to provide the best life for his family. He loved his family with every fiber of his being, showing his love every day. His son Damian was his best buddy and they had many good times together. His daughter Chloe was daddy’s girl and personifies him in so many ways. He was a jack of all trades, but excelling in carpentry work. He has touched so many lives with his can-do attitude. So whatever he put his hand to was done exceptionally well. No matter the time or place, if he saw anyone needing a helping hand, Gary was the first to heed the call. He did so without worry or care and there was never a task he refused. Throughout his cancer journey he never complained or wondered why me? His only concern the whole time was his wife and children. He will be sadly and deeply be missed. There is indeed a whole made in the fabric of his family.
He was predeceased by his parents Pearce and Maxine Cooper; brothers-in-law Dan Foley and Andrew Marshall; father-in-law Pierce Power. Leaving to mourn his devoted wife of 20 years Carla Power; children Damian 18 and Chloe 13, also his stepchildren Anthony Crann and his grandson Caden Crann; mother-in-law Joan Power; brother Dan (Madeline) Cooper, Edna Foley, Pauline (Roy) Knapp, Christine Marshall; sisters-in-law Cathy Peyton and Leigh Power and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to assist with the funeral expenses.
