Gail peacefully passed away on September 9, 2023 at the age of 85 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald Chabot, daughter of the late James Havelocke Fleming born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and the late foster Mom-Osland.
She leaves in sadness her children; Roselle Chabot Rouleau (Dan), John Chabot (Cindy) and Andrea McCulloch Chabot (Kelvin). Cherished grandmother of Annique, Evelyne, Ilyana & Owen, Mitchell, Nicholas & Kyle, Travis & Genoah. Predeceased by her siblings, Joan, Margaret, Ann, and Barry.
Mom was a proud RNA nurse in Winnipeg, MB and at the Riverside Hospital etc in Ottawa, ON for over 20 years. As well, the RCMP for over 15 years.
Mom enjoyed Camping, family games, knitting, cross-stitch, crochet, sewing, baking, gardening, curling, skiing, singing with the church choir, and following many Sports / Olympics on TV.
Mom volunteered at the Madonna Nursing Home, in Orleans, after Dad’s passing. Her smile was contagious to all she met there. The tenderness and dignity given was all returned to her during her stay at Willowbend Retirement Residence where she took her last peaceful breath.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus and Willowbend Retirement Home for all their amazing care provided.
Family and friends may pay their respect on Monday September 18, 2023 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Orleans, ON. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Divine Infant Parish, 6658 Bilberry Drive, Orleans, ON.
In memory of Mrs. Chabot, donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
