Frederick Denis Harold Overholt, age 78, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital on January 10, 2023. Born in Stratford, son of the late Harold and Mary Overholt.
Beloved husband for 57 years of Margaret (Bomasuit). Father of Lisa Overholt (Glen Hunt), Steven Overholt. Grandfather of Ryan and Matthew Hunt. Brother-in-law of Carman Bomasuit, Michael Bomasuit (Elizabeth), Marie Marinelli (Enio). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by Sister Joan Overholt – Loretto Sisters, sister Rosemary Lightfoot (Brian), sister-in-law Barbara Bomasuit and brother-in-law Angelo Bomasuit (Dorothy).
Fred was well known in the automotive business and operated Overholt Motors for many years. He was a competitive drag racer, enjoyed swimming and hockey was his passion. He especially enjoyed the Leafs. Fred could be found at Tim Hortons meeting with friends over a coffee.
Cremation will take place. A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford Perth Humane Society through the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
