Obituary
On February 15, after a long illness, Frederick (Fred) Stanley Hampton passed away at Sechelt Hospital in his 89th year. Born in Saint John, he was a son of the late Roy and Reta (Allan) Hampton. Fred served with the Royal Canadian Navy, worked on cargo ships, and then as an orderly in various Toronto hospitals before spending the rest of his working career as a sorter for Canada Post. Fred is survived by his long-term partner, Wes Sorgaard, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, three sisters, Lois, Helen, and Elsie, and his brother Roy. Per Fred’s request there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choosing. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jaschinski and his colleagues. In addition special thanks to the hospital doctors, nurses and staff, the ambulance attendants as well as the home care nurses, care aides, hospice volunteers, special friends and family members for their unwavering care, compassion, and support.
