Freda Mallory, 82, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2023. She was born on April 1, 1941, in Perth, Ontario, to Charles William Frizell and Florence (Lake) Frizell. Freda married Fredrick Clifford Mallory on June 20, 1959, and together they raised their two boys, Jeffrey Fredrick (Marg) and David William (Elaine).
Freda is survived by her sisters; Brenda (Jim) Sleeth, Beverley (Rudy deceased) Bartling, Joan (Bob) Steele, Shirley (Eric deceased) Neilson and sister-in-law Bev (Lorne) Mallory and many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her sister Eleanor Gray and brother Bill (Wendy) Frizell and brother in laws Charlie (Phyllis) Mallory, Lorne Mallory & Harry Mallory and sister in laws Dorothy (Forrest) Christie, Phyllis (Jim) Shewan.
Family was their top priority, and they enjoyed vacations together. Freda leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: William (Jasmine), Baileigh, Kassia & Colton Mallory & Matthew Darling and her cherished great grandchild Jack Mallory.
Freda had a fulfilling career with the City of Brockville and retired after 35 years. She and Fred shared a love of travel, they explored Canada, especially their favourite province: Newfoundland and Labrador. They also embarked on many adventures South. Their 50th wedding anniversary was celebrated in June 2009, with Fred passing away shortly after.
In her retirement, Freda volunteered, demonstrated great independence, and embraced new experiences enjoying her travels South and to Europe. She was actively involved in her church and found joy in helping others. Despite health challenges, Freda remained grateful for the extra time she had with her family and friends. She will be remembered fondly by her special friends Carole Dunn, Nellie Jackson, Mary Dier & Pat Lajoie.
Freda’s life was marked by love, compassion, and a deep faith. She will be remembered as an extraordinary woman who touched the lives of many.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St., E Brockville on Saturday July 8, 2023, from 11 am until 1 pm when a service will be held in the chapel. Interment and reception to follow.
Donations in memory of Freda Mallory may be made to Christ United Church in Lyn, ON.
