In loving memory of Francis Somerville.
Francis Somerville, (80), of Nanton Alberta, passed away doing what he loved, playing golf with his wife of 56 years at the Nanton Golf Course on August 15th, 2023.
Francis was born to Frank and Hazel Somerville on July 24th, 1943 in Didsbury Alberta. He attended a one room school; Carstairs High School; University of Calgary and University of Oregon. Graduating with an Education degree he enjoyed teaching math for many years in Calgary. He loved traveling, camping, golfing, curling, woodworking and spending time with family at the cabin in the Crowsnest pass. After retiring to Nanton in 2004, Francis joined with friends to create the famous group??? Jill and the Rusty Steers.
Francis is survived by his wife Susan; son Rob (Ena, Reece); daughters Karen, Carla (Andy, Ben, Matthew); sisters Laurel (Fred, David, Wendy) and Linda (Ken, Trish, Ken, Kevin); and many more beloved relatives and friends.
Francis’s family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 19th at 2:00pm. The service will be at the Nanton United Church. In his memory, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation:
