It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Francis (Frank) John Edwards on January 29, 2023, in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 69 years.
Frank was born on March 10, 1953, in Regina, Saskatchewan. He was raised on a farm near Bracken, Saskatchewan until the age of 15. At 15 Frank left home to begin working on a drilling rig, leading to a lifetime career in the Oil and Gas industry. Frank worked in places such as Saudi Arabia, Syria, Pakistan, Yemen, Trinidad and Columbia to name a few.
On May 1, 1976, Frank married Darlene Miller. Together they shared 46 years of marriage and raised three sons. Frank and Darlene lived in Saudi Arabia and Calgary for a short period of time, before moving to a farm outside of Nanton, Alberta in 1979. While living on the farm, Frank and Darlene’s cattle company Diamond J Limousine was born. Together they raised and sold Limousine cattle for a number of years before selling the business and settling in High River, Alberta in 2002. Throughout the years Frank ran many successful businesses including Tumbler Ridge Rentals and Medical Services and most recently Silvertide Hot Shot Services out of Millet, Alberta. Frank was never a man to sit still, he thrived and lived his best life working and being busy.
Left to mourn Frank’s passing and celebrate his life are his wife, Darlene; sons Rob (Leanne), Shane (Jody), David (Aliesha); grandchildren Cody (Jocey), Ashley, Mason, Kingston and Hudson; great-grandchildren Emery, Tate and Blakely; sisters Helen, Rita, Agnus and Lyla; brothers William and Omar. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Frank was predeceased by his parents Justin and Marie and sister Ann.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Wilters and his staff at the Nanton Health Clinic, the doctors and nurses at the High River Hospital and the staff at the Foothills Hospital.
At Frank’s request no service will be held.
