Frances Saunders nee Collins
August 18, 1939 – February 9, 2023
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Frances Saunders, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She passed away in the presence of family at James Paton Memorial Hospital.
Frances will be fondly remembered for her love of cooking and baking, which she enjoyed giving away to others. She could always be counted on for a great game of cards or TV Bingo. For those closest to her, she will be lovingly remembered as Aunt Fan. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Predeceased by parents Daniel & Cecilia Collins, brother Naaman Collins & sister-in-law Rosie, Sister Mariah Eastman and brothers-in-law Enoch Collins & Kater Eastman, sister Neta Lane, and brothers-in-law Silas Collins and Edmund Paul. Also predeceased by in-laws James & Lydia Saunders.
Left to mourn with countless memories:
Loving husband of 66 years, Scott Saunders.
Children Elaine Paul (Lin), Susan Hapgood (Pat), Morgan (Irene), Ruby Collins (Floyd), and Jim.
Grandchildren Kelly Durdle (Paul), Patti Moss (Dennis Squire), Deanne Hapgood (Corey Squire), Candace Kisway (Kyle), Amy Collins, Christa Humber (Stephen), Kyle, and Jonathan Paul (Sara).
Great-grandchildren Allyson Durdle (Merwin Haight III), Hannah Moss (Dylan Cameron), Nathan Moss, Hunter Andrews, Carlee Andrews, and Riley Kisway.
Siblings Beatrice Collins, Pearl Paul (Albert Gill), Elias Collins (Ethel), and brother-in-law Doug Lane.
Visitation for the public will be held at Pritchett’s Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb 11 from 3-9pm and Sunday, Feb 12 from 6-9pm.
Funeral service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church in Gambo on Monday, February 13 at 10:30am.
