Obituary of FLORENCE SHIRLEY HORAN
Florence Shirley Horan (nee Griffith)
October 9, 1936 – December 26, 2022
Florence Horan passed away with family by her side on December 26, 2022 at her home in Winnipeg, at the age of 86 years.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Horan, her parents, George and Daisy Griffith and her sisters, Doris Griffiths and Phyllis Dales.
Florence is lovingly remembered by her children, Linda Deck and Aubrey Konzelman, her grandchildren James Deck and Micahel Deck and great-grandchildren Nathan Deck and Charles Deck.
Born and raised on a farm in the Glenellen District near the Rising Mountains, Florence moved to Neepawa as a teenager in 1950 and attended the Neepawa Collegiate. Florence then moved to Winnipeg in 1955 after graduating. She married her first husband, Aubrey Konzelman in 1960 and had her children Linda and Aubrey. For years Florence was a secretary and then did home care.
In 1993, Florence married her second husband, Lloyd Horan. They shared many adventures and years together before Lloyd fell ill. In the years after Lloyd passed, Florence became heavily involved with cat rescue and even wrote a couple of cat books about their needs and adventures.
The family would like to extend thanks to the Cancer Care Centre in Winnipeg.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 6, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Union Gospel Mission, 240 Pritchard Avenue, Winnipeg with Pastor Gilbert Plante.
If friends desire, donations can made in Florence’s memory to a local animal shelter of their choice.
