It is with great sadness and much love that we said goodbye
to Filippo Marini, at the age of 92, on Wednesday September 6, 2023 at
Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home in Moncton. He was the husband of the
late Maria (Amarii) Marini. Born in Elce, Italy, he was the son of the
late Beniamino Marini and Clementina Ampieri.
Affectionately known as Nanou, he will always be remembered
as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather with a
wonderful sense of humour, and a strong work ethic. His passions in
life were first and foremost his family, but he also enjoyed gardening
and wine making.
He is survived by two children: Pia MacLeod (Wade) and
Marcello Marini (Lisa); one son-in-law, Robert LeBlanc; six
grandchildren: Angela (Kevin), Marco (Stéphanie), Laura,
Samantha, Celia, and Julia: two great-grandchildren: Olivia and Mateo;
two sisters: Domenica and Giuliana; as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by one
daughter, Stefania LeBlanc; and his brothers and sisters: Giustina,
Angelo, Paolo, Rosina, Lucia, Nicola, and Ines.
His family would like to thank all the staff at Briarlea and
Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home for the care and compassion they
showed him over the last few years.
In
accordance to his wishes, there will be no visitation. The funeral
service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre,
88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Monday September 11 at 11
am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe. In
memory of Filippo, donations to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation
or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
