ROSS: Ewen John –
A resident of Chatham, Ewen Ross passed away at the Chatham-Kent Hospice with his family at his side on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the age of 90.
Born in Chatham and raised on the family farm, Ewen was the son of the late Alexander and Dora (Jacobs) Ross.
Beloved husband just shy of 65 years to Margaret (nee Sloan).
Loving and cherished father to Lynn Reissner (Harold), Sher DeJonge (Pete) and Robert Ross (Karen).
Proud Grandpa of Shane (Kristin), Kyle (Dana), Blair (Jordan), Lucas (Lexi), Sybil, Matt, Jordan and Morgan.
Special Great-Grandpa to Tayvia, Ella, Gray, Ryker, Alexander, Van, Lowe, Audra, Sloan and Slade.
Dear brother to Ann Snider (Jim). Predeceased by his siblings Donald Ross (late Thelma) and Jessie Leach (late Ivan).
Survived by sister-in-law Eva Sloan and missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street Chatham on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 11:00am until the Funeral Service at 1:00pm with Rev. Ken Powell officiating. Private family interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
Special thanks to the staff at the Chatham Retirement Resort for their care and compassion over the years and to the ‘dream team of angels’ at the Chatham-Kent Hospice for their care in Ewen’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ewen to New St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Dover or the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
