Eileen Effie Pearl Shay Helmer
The angels came to bring Eileen Helmer (nee Shay) home. A former resident of Finch, Eileen passed away with family by her side at Heritage Heights Retirement Home in Cornwall on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. She was the beloved wife for 40 years of the late Earl Helmer who predeceased her in 1988. Proud and loving mother of Freddie Helmer (Elizabeth) of Ingleside, Gloria Carbino (Winston) of Newington and Marilyn Pilon (Ed) of Long Sault. Eileen will be fondly remembered by 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Rhoda Shay and her sisters Dorothea Hanes, Doreen Duff and Eva Weegar. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Arrangements
A private family graveside service will be held at Sandtown Cemetery. Donations to Chalmers United Church would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
