Edward Leo Piercey, aged 60 years, passed away peacefully at Northern Lights Regional Hospital in Fort McMurray, Alberta, on March 4, 2023.
Leo is survived by his long-life partner of thirty-six years, Rosemary Feltham; sisters, Clara Moores (Dave), Kathleen Hopkins (Peter), Irene Piercey (Shawn Power) and Francis; brother, Cliff Piercey (Bonnie); mother-in-law, Elaine Feltham, sisters-in-law; Venita Lal and Tammy Sheppard, brothers-in-law; Tony Feltham (Liz) and Boyd Feltham (Dee), numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews as well as many close friends; Steve and Loretta Sturge, Hailey Snook, Trevor and Misty Snook, Christine Preshyon, Conrad and Carol Baines and Steve and Barb Jamison.
Predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Margaret (Hicks) Piercey; sisters, Ivy and Eleanor and brother Lindsay; brother-in-law, Peter Moores and Lal and father-in-law, Bramwell Feltham.
Leo came to Fort McMurray in 1985, where he later met the love of his life Rosemary Feltham in 1986. Leo loved to go out into the woods hunting and fishing, especially when he would have a mug up with his father-in-law, whom he idolized. Leo also enjoyed cooking and baking. The boys at work called him the cookie man because he always had cookies beside the coffee pot when they came into the lunch room. Leo will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Robert Anderson Funeral Services, 115-190 MacAlpine Crescent, Fort McMurray, Alberta, on March 11, 2023, at 1:00 pm.
Donations in Leo’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
