Dorothy Leona Lee
1936-2023
The passing of Dorothy Leona (Lord) Lee, wife of the late
Forrest Lee formerly of Canal NB occurred at the Saint John Regional
Hospital, Saint John NB on June 4, 2023. Born at Canal NB on March 28,
1936, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Irene (Doucette)
Lord. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister;
Dorothy is survived by one son: Gregory (Brenda) Lee of Second Falls
NB; daughters: Anna Sauliner of Utopia NB, Dorothy (Stephen) MacVicar
of Mascarene NB and Rose Lee (Billy) of Canal NB; eight grandchildren:
Christopher (Jolene), Ryan (Brittany), Terra, Derek (Jenna), Brittany
(Chris), Daniel, Stephen Lewis and Tanner; nine great-grandchildren;
one sister: Karen (Donald) Nickerson of Saint John NB; and several
nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband,
she was predeceased by one son: Daniel; and by siblings: Frances,
Beatrice, Sadie, Alvina, Roy, Alden and Donald.
Prior to her retirement, Dorothy worked several years for
Connors Brothers as a packer. She was no stranger to hard work as she
also raked berries, picked potatoes and generally did “hands
on” hard work. She was known as a selfless soul, who always
brought the needs of others before herself. She would often go without
to give to someone else. Dorothy was Baptist by faith and attended
both the Second Falls and St. George Baptist Churches. She will always
be remembered as a great cook who loved spending time with her
family.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home
(506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the
funeral home with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The service
will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm from the Second Falls Baptist
Church, Second Falls NB with Rev. Reg Ward officiating, followed by
interment in the church cemetery. In Dorothy’s memory
donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or to a charity of the
donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
