O’Brien, Doris Irene:
On Sunday, March 26th, 2023, our dear mother Doris Irene O’Brien went to be with her Lord at the age of 95. Left to mourn her passing are daughters Patricia (Harold) Nagy and Laurie O’Brien (Raymond Osmond) and stepchildren James (June) O’Brien and Joy (Charles) Sharkey and sons-in-law Phil Sanderson and Gerry Craven. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Kerry (Grant) Wallace, Sheri Lyn (Jason) Radjija, Kelly (Michelle) Craven, Stacey (Adam) Salt, Tammy (Jamie) Groff, Jason Sanderson, Robin (Tony) Craven, Kyle Osmond. She is a great-grandmother to many. Doris was the last surviving member of the Prince family, having been predeceased by one brother and four sisters. She was also predeceased by her husband James O’Brien (1998), children Cathy Craven (2021) and Susan Sanderson (2022) and grandchildren Michael Nagy (2010) and David O’Brien (2018). She will be missed dearly by her longtime friend Joan.
Mom loved to cook, bake, sew and travel the world. She was a longtime member of many charities and volunteered her time often to causes in the community and at her church.
Doris’s family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM with prayers at 6:45 PM on Wednesday, March 29th, 2023 at Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue from 9:30 AM – 10:15 AM on Thursday, March 30th, 2023 with a Liturgy Service held at 10:30 AM in the funeral home chapel. A light reception to follow. Interment at Woodland Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).
