Donald Chapman
Donald Chapman was born April 9, 1945, the third child born to Clarence and Lydia Chapman. He passed away peacefully in the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on March 30, 2023.
Don loved sports, he was an excellent ball player, and an avid golfer. He enjoyed being with horses and went riding in the mountains and judged at many mule and horse shows.
Don’s daughter Jessica was very special to him. Unfortunately she passed away in 2018 at the early age of 43 of M.S.
Don was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and went to live with his sister in Stettler. When he needed extended care, he moved into Willow Creek Lodge where he lived until his passing.
Don is survived by his siblings: Norma Rairdan, Dale (Donna) Chapman, Terry (Kristine) Chapman; sister-in-law Noella Chapman and their families; stepchildren John Valente, Shane Valente, Charlotte (Rod) Huehn, Nikki (Greg) Gonaware, and their mother Barbara. Don was predeceased by his daughter Jessica, brother Bill, and step son Micah.
At Don’s request no funeral will be held.
Donations in Don’s memory are gratefully accepted to: Parkinson’s Association of Alberta, 5406D – 43 Street, Red Deer, Alberta T4P 1C9 or a charity of the donor’s choice
The family would like to thank the Doctors and Staff at the Stettler, Red Deer and Foothills Hospitals that looked after Don. The special care he received while living at Willow Creek Lodge was much appreciated.
