A resident of Highgate, Dona Mae Waite passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens on July 28, 2023 at the age of 90.
Born in Howard Township, Dona was the daughter of William and Refa (née Wright) Magee.
Dona Married the Love of her life, Leslie Waite in November of 1955. Together, they had four children, Gordon Waite (2021), Ray “Chip” (Shelley) Waite, John “Putt” (Donna) Waite, and Celia Campbell.
Dona will be forever remembered by her brothers Glen (Judy) Magee, Robert (Penny) Magee, and sister Carol Zsoldos. Predeceased by her sisters Eileen Waite and Shirley (Pete) Rokebrand.
Loving grandmother to Gary Waite, Kimmie (Derrick) Dozois, Karon Waite, Courtney Campbell, Jason (Ashley) Campbell, Kelly (Steve) Meigs, Jeff Jacques, and Katie (Tyler) Johnston.
She will be missed by her sixteen great-grandchildren, Morgan, Megan, Ryekin, Johnny, Ethan, Austin, Kylie, Keagan, Brodie, Jaxon, Ryleigh, Aubrey, Cayleigh, Travis, Addison, Evan, and one great-great-grandson Jayce.
Dona will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.
Dona was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Moose Lodge, the Woman’s Institute, she was an active member of Ridgetown Seniors and the Anglican Church. She will be remembered for her love of plants, knitting, canning, crosswords, and scratch cards. She enjoyed playing pepper and euchre at the Highgate legion. Dona also enjoyed darts, bowling and lawn-bowling.
