Obituary
On Saturday, July 8th, 2023, our dear father, Donald Allen Buck, after 97 years, completed his earthly journey and joined our mother, Annie (Throop) Buck, around the throne of the Lord they served so faithfully.
Born on September 2nd, 1925 in Chartersville, NB, to the late Reuben and Annie (MacFarlane) Buck. He ran the family farm for several years and retired from Co-op Farm Services as manager of the petroleum department after thirty-two years service.
Dad was community minded and served as a councillor for the village of Chartersville, past president of Junior Farmers, past president Lewisville Home and School Association, as well as, past director of Co-op Farm Services, Moncton. He was a recipient of the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Medal.
The Salvation Army was Dad’s church home where he served as Corps Secretary for many years. If there was a job to be done at the church, Dad was willing to do it. Dad and Mom were members of the Lakeview Manor Auxiliary and conducted Chapel Services there. The manor was where they were each residing at the time they were “promoted to Glory.”
Dad leaves behind the family he gave so much of his love and wisdom to: Wayne (Brenda), Harewood, NB, Sheila (Tony) Palmer, Barrie, ON, Brian (Janice), Greenfield, NS, Gary (Cindy), Saint John, NB, Hazel (Ron) Furlong, Riverview, NB, daughter-in-law Evelyn (late Norman), Shediac Bridge, NB. Dear brothers, Raymond (Gwenyth), Moncton, Kenneth (Ann) and Aubrey (Ruth), both of Riverview and Eldon (Barbara), Kanata, ON.
He will be missed but lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren.
