Wilson: Donald Ross
Donald Ross Wilson, aged 91 passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023, at Huronview Home for the Aged in Clinton, Ontario. Don was born on September 28, 1931, in London, Ontario, to Laura Wilson (Hoy) and Basil Wilson. Don married the love of his life Audrey Olive Wilson (Zahn) on June 21, 1952, in London, Ontario. He was a Train Operator with the Canadian National (CN) Railway until retirement and a member of the Free Masons of Ontario. Don and his wife were well-established members of the Kingsbridge, Ontario community for several years until they moved to Clinton, Ontario. While living in Kingsbridge, Don was well-known on the local radio station. He had a passion for his in-depth on-air discussions and debates with radio hosts. Throughout their marriage, Don and his wife travelled all over Ontario, for their love of horse racing. They even had award-winning racehorses over the years. Once they settled in Huron County, Don and his wife spent many Sundays at the Clinton Raceway.
Predeceased by his wife Audrey Olive Wilson (Zahn) in 2021. They had four children Darlene (James), Dale (Dell-Anne), Wayne (Chandra) and Debbie (Dennis). Don was the grandfather to eight grandchildren: David, Bryan, Stacey, Dayna, Gavin, Hayley, Michael and Jacklyn. Also the proud great-grandfather to their children.
Thank you to the staff at Huronview Home for the Aged, for caring for and supporting Don as a resident over the past few years.
A private graveside service will be held at Port Albert Anglican Cemetary in Port Albert, at a later date for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lambton Heritage Museum. Kind messages of condolence for Don’s family are welcome at www.falconerfuneralhomes.com.
