Obituary For Denver Franklin DeWitt
1943 – 2023
Denver DeWitt of Beaverlodge, Alberta, died peacefully at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital after a short battle with cancer, at the age of 79.
He was born in Calgary, AB, and raised in the Airdrie area where he later farmed with his dad and brother. In 1978, he, with his wife Teresa, purchased a small farm near Didsbury, AB. During this time Denver also ran a small construction company which later transitioned into a 21-year career as an oilfield consultant. He supervised jobs all over Alberta and Northern BC.
While working in the Peace Country, he resided extensively at the Beaverlodge Motor Inn where he became part of the local coffee group. Eventually he and his family decided to resettle in the Beaverlodge area where he enjoyed raising cattle for the last 26 years of his life.
Denver is survived by his wife of 48 years, Teresa, son Robin (Alescia), grandchildren Amity and Loxley, brother Dallas (Debbie), sister Wendy, and brother-in-law Neil Michel. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Sandra.
A celebration of life will be held later this summer.
If so inclined, donations in Denver’s memory may be made to the Beaverlodge Hospital Foundation, Box 480, Beaverlodge AB, T0H 0C0.
