Obituary
Delphine Paine (Parks)
Peacefully on January 16, 2023 our sweet beloved mom, nannie, great-nannie, sister, auntie and friend passed away at the age of 88.
Del will be greatly missed by her children, Debbie, Howie (Katie), Maureen (Ronnie), Laverne, Glen (Linda), Kim, all of BC and Melanie (Eric) of Selkirk, MB.; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Irene Laing, Shirley Berry, June Fewchuk and Lori Swain.
Mom was predeceased by her brother Clarence(Bud), her parents, Howard and Lena Parks, her youngest son Clarence, and her grandson Barry.
Mom was born February 4, 1934 in Selkirk and raised in Lockport. She worked different jobs while raising her kids, working as a nurses aid at Middlechurch home until her early retirement, when she made the move to BC and lived and worked there till retirement, moving back to Manitoba.
Mom had the gift to make people laugh. Her quick wit one-liners will definitely be missed.
She was a great cook and baker. Every Christmas she would always bake a care package for her kids. Mom would sew, knit and crochet and have baby blankets or a sweater outfit made for the new grand-babies.
She enjoyed watching the Blue Jays play baseball in the summer and the Winnipeg Jets and Vancouver Canucks during the winter months getting quite vocal during the games.
Mom started playing the piano at a very young age. She could play just about any song by hearing it, never looking at any music books.
Mom loved the Lord and served Him with her whole heart. She would have home Bible studies for years, attending church and volunteering as a greeter at Springs.
The family would like to thank Home Care and Eriksdale hospital for the great care that they gave mom.
Cremation has taken place and the service will be held at a later date.
Toodles ❤️
