The Family of
Darrell Hazlett are very sad to announce his passing on July 18, 2023,
at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Darrell was born in Fredericton NB
on June 18, 1951, he was a son of the late Irvine and Althea Hazlett
(Sinclair).
Survived by a
brother, Clair (Donna) Hazlett of Fredericton; his partner Kim Jewett
of Fredericton, a daughter, Jennifer (Blake) Richardson of Alberta;
grandchildren, Brayden and Haeley as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Arthur
and Allison as well as a stepdaughter Monica whom he dearly
loved.
Darrell began
working for CP Rail then made a move to the Red Lantern Pub where he
worked as a waiter, bartender, and eventually as a manager for close
to 43 years. While he held different titles over the years, the one
title that best describes Darrell is “A Legend” which he was
to his customers. He also enjoyed all sports and enjoyed a game of
golf or bowling with his friends. He organized a football pool for
many years in which many friends and customers participated. Darrell
was loved by many and will be dearly
missed.
It was
Darrell’s request that only a private funeral be held.
Cremation has taken place at Bishops Funeral Home and Crematorium, 540
Woodstock Road Fredericton,
NB.
If so desired,
memorial donations in Darrell’s memory may be made to a
charity of the donor’s choice.
