Obituary
With love and heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Dan Tietje; husband, stepfather, grandfather, and close friend who earned his wings after a sudden stroke on New Year’s Eve.
He was predeceased by his sister Shelly Tietje.
Leaving to mourn with love and fond memories are his devoted wife, Marg Tietje; stepson and stepdaughter, Dave Reilly and Heather Reilly; and three grandchildren Connor, Lily, and Maya Reilly. He crossed over at a young age, also leaving behind his parents, Ila Tillman Tietje and Darold Tietje; his niece, Krystal Silva-Tietje; extended family, and countless friends.
Dan was a kind and loyal family member and friend. He was amiable to everyone he met, worked hard, and left an impact especially on his co-workers and close friends he played games with weekly. He was passionate about gaming online and in person and could be found doing laps around the walking track at the lion’s club almost daily in the summer.
Our family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses, doctors, and maintenance staff at Carbonear General Hospital. Although this was not an easy time, they took the time to make sure Dan was as comfortable as possible and went out of their way to make sure his wife and stepson were informed, included, and took care of their needs as they sat by his side.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo, on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 pm, and again from 7:00-9:00pm. There will be no formal funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Dan Tietje Memorial Fund. If donating through E-Tranfer (email transfer), please send donations to sugarphix@hotmail.com and put in the notes that it is for Dan.
