It is with a heavy heart that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved Coy; he was a grandson, father, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Coy left this world and started his journey to our Lord and Savior on May 7, 2023 in Eden Valley and the age of 26.
Coy Joyel Austin of Eden Valley was born on November 3, 1997 in High River Alberta. When Coy was a child he played hockey for the High Country Minor Hockey Club in Black Diamond; he also played hockey in the Treaty Hockey Tournament and the Native Provincials where his team brought home a medal, this was one of Coy’s highlights as a hockey player.
Coy’s passion for sports extended beyond his teenage years as he began his transition into the sport of baseball, Coy excelled in this sport and enjoyed playing with his paternal family and ‘The Dream Catcher’s’ as they travelled throughout Alberta and BC competing in tournaments. In his past time; he enjoyed hunting and horseback riding with his uncle Wayne Wesley.
Coy is predeceased by his parents Leann Daniels (2010) and Garon Wildman (2000); siblings Jerome Darren Daniels (1995) and Drezeen Blaze Daniels (2008); maternal grandfather Garvin Rollinmud,
Great-grandfather Archie Daniels and Great-grandmother Mary Holloway; paternal grandparents Gordon and Virginia Wildman; Great-grandparents Earl and Mary Wildman; cousins Pavel Big Plume and Ace Daniels and traditional grandmother Jackie Wildman.
Left to mourn his abcence is Coy’s pride and joy, Araya Omeasoo-Daniels, common law wife Destiny Omeasoo, grandmother Ealeanor Rollinmud, who treasured her grandchildren like her own. Coy was a cherished brother to his sisters Teikwa, Jewel, Alizia, and youngest brother Cruz, as well as a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews; Mckaiis, Daunte, Kaylee, Kylie, Hazyn, Creeda, Adison, Madison, Stella, Kalila & Kasey. They will remember him for the care he provided when he would ensure they were fed before going to school, and could count on him being home and making them feel safe.
Coy will be missed by his uncles; Jarrett Daniels, Harry (Gina) Daniels, Cory (Lindsey) Wildman, adopted uncle Sheldon (Theresa) Hunter. Aunties Charity Wildman, Ursula Wildman (Jordan), Warrenlane Wildman as well as Extended Traditional grandparents Larry & Lydia Daniels, Chester & Melvina Daniels, Rex & Janice Daniels, Cheryl Daniels, Joy & Dave Edwards-Johnson, Tommy Daniels, Deanna Daniel’s, Alvina Lefthand & Nancy Lefthand.
The family of Coy Daniels want to extend their gratitude to those who have supported the family during their difficult time.
