Claudio Santiago Sanchez Cabrera, 68, passed away peacefully on Friday March 24th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Claudio was a funny and generous man, who loved his family and friends dearly. He was born and raised in Ecuador and moved to Canada at 18 years old, where he met and married the love of his life, Saverina Pezzo.
They went on to have four daughters: Jennifer (George), Andrea, Stephanie and Julia.
Claudio worked as a software engineer at RBC.
He enjoyed reading books about history and outer space, and loved playing basketball and soccer with his daughters. On a sunny day, you could find him sitting underneath the mora tree with his beagles and a glass of red wine, listening to Los Iracundos or the Beatles.
Claudio was a true fighter. In the last seven years of his life he overcame three brain aneurisms and fought each and every day to live life to the fullest. In those last seven years he was blessed to meet all seven of his grandchildren who love and cherish the memories made with him.
Claudio, everyone you left behind misses you dearly, but we are all happy that you are finally resting peacefully. We will always love and miss you until we can meet again.
Friends are invited to visit with the family at McKersie and Early Funeral Home, on Tuesday March 28th, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday March 29th, 2023 at Holy Rosary Parish (139 Martin Street, Milton, ON L9T 2R3). Time to be confirmed.
The celebration of Claudio’s life will be held at The Grand Chalet (324 Steeles Avenue East, Milton, ON L9T 1Y4).
