Pre-deceased by her father, Joseph Lyall Lomer Ahern (1979).
Survived by daughter, Kayla Joi Ahern (Michael Citron), her mother, Doreen and step-father, Larry Cheshire. Also fur-family Spanky, O’Malley and Bingo.
Diagnosed in 1984 with Type I Diabetes, Christine did not let this stop her from living life to the fullest. She took on the fight with Diabetes and felt it made her the woman she became.
Christine attended Walkerville Collegiate and Ivan R Sales School of Hairdressing. After working for a number of years, she made the brave decision to go back to school at age 39. She graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelor of Social Work Degree with Honours and a Masters of Social Work Degree. She worked for A&A Records, Home Depot, Family Services Kent (Chatham), and was currently a Faculty Member at St. Clair College: South Campus and Program Co-Ordinator of the Social Services Worker and Gerontology Program. Christine was a published author.
Christine will always be remembered as kind, caring, smart, clever, determined, strong, strong-willed and sassy. She had a thirst for knowledge and loved to laugh and have fun. A jack of all trades. She had strong fact-based opinions. She was a master at sarcasm. She was ever an optimist. She loved the wildlife around her home and always made sure the squirrels were fed. She loved to garden and took great pride in the hard work she put into beautifying her home. She loved to cook and would frequently spend a full Sunday in the kitchen making delicious dishes. Above all else, she loved the time she spent with her daughter Kayla, the joy of her life.
Christine had an impact on so many. She will be truly missed.
