Obituary
After a long battle with addiction, Christopher O’Toole, 41 years of age, passed away on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022, in Burnaby, British Columbia. Chris had worked very hard for his recovery, and we were all optimistic that he was going to pull through, as he had been clean for 15 months.
Anyone who knew Chris knows what a special person he was and how his presence would light up a room. Chris’s drug addiction was only a very small fragment of who he really was.
Chris loved snowboarding, playing guitar, Xbox and spending time with his family and friends. If there was something new and exciting to do, he would always be the first to try it. He had an infectious laugh and was loved by all who met him. Chris will be greatly missed.
Chris had so many supporters rooting for him and praying for his recovery. Everyone was very proud of him and respected the steps he had taken but, in the end, he lost his battle. Chris is survived by his loving parents, John and Margaret O’Toole, brother, Kevin O’Toole, sister, Jennifer O’Toole, his niece, Madison, and nephews, Jacob, Chael and Carter. He was preceded in death by his beloved Melissa, who succumbed from an addiction to drugs in June 2021.
A Celebration of Life for Chris will be at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905)877-3631 on Sunday May 7th, 2023, between 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
