Obituary
Charles “Chuck” P. Kinney, 81, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, July 13, 2023. Born in Woodstock, NB, he was the son of the late Philip and Eileen (Ashe) Kinney.
Chuck had a dedicated 31-year career with the Moncton Police Department retiring as Sergeant. He attended St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of the Moncton Model Railroad Society, a collector of antique tractors and stamps. He enjoyed woodworking, hockey and was an avid fan of the Moncton Wildcats for over 25 years. He was also the former owner of Don’s HO Service.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Jessie Kinney (nee Carroll); son, Peter Kinney; sisters, Diane Coates (late Reginald), Cheryl Foran (late Claude) and Norma Kay (David); brothers, Brian (Paula), Art (Donna), Larry (Jean); as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) on Tuesday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church (Botsford St) on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 11:00 am. Reception will follow in the Church Hall.
In memory of Chuck, memorial contributions to St. Bernard’s Church Building Fund, Canadian Diabetes Association or a Memorial of Choice would be appreciated.
