Obituary
On January 2, 2023, Cecile “Cis” Marie Cyr passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Caraquet, NB, on August 4, 1939, she was the daughter of the late August and Pauline (Thibodeau) Gionet.
Cis was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branches #2 and #14 for several years. She liked going for walks and participated in many Walk For Life (Heart Walk) events. Cis also enjoyed doing puzzles in her spare time.
Cis is survived by her children Frank (Ardeth) Cyr, James (Molly) Cyr, Tina (Bob) Hammond, Anne-Marie Archer, Francine Cyr, and Penny (Delby) Charbel; brothers: Eddie (Carol) Gionet, Gerry (Janice) Gionet, Denis, and Lee; sisters: Pat Patterson and Liz (Trevor) Waite; as well as 13 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Besides her parents, Cis was predeceased by her first husband Francis J. Cyr, second husband Keith Hall, sister Edna Cormier, and son-in-law Kevin.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd, Saint John. Visitation will take place on Thursday and Friday, January 5 and 6, 2023, from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 2 PM. Donations in Cis’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
