Carolyn Ruth Wallis
November 17, 1949 – April 16, 2023
Carolyn Wallis, age 73, passed away peacefully on a beautiful spring weekend at McNally House Hospice in Grimsby. Carolyn is survived by sisters Lorainne (Mark) and Loretta (Jim), brother David (Rinskje), sister-in-law Mary and her cat Scholi. She was “Auntie Carolyn” to generations of nieces and nephews, many of whom were fortunate to have Carolyn in their lives from early on. She was predeceased by her brother Tom (Mary), and her parents Tom and Ruth (nee DeLuca). Carolyn worked in office administration in Toronto for decades before moving to Port Elgin where she retired as a proud member of the Bruce Power team. Carolyn loved gardening and was a doting mom to many cats and dogs over her life. She loved, and was loved, by her close family and friends who will remember her generosity, independent spirit, humour, mischievousness, and pride in having Italian ancestry which she infused into delicious sauces, meatballs and soups. A special thank you to friends Sandra White, Robin Jacobs and Julie Vesuwalla, her doctors, nurses and support teams, and McNally House for their excellent care once again for a family member. Per her wishes, Carolyn’s ashes will be laid to rest alongside her parents at Queen’s Lawn Cemetery in Grimsby. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to McNally House.
