Obituary
It is with a heavy heart the family of Carolyn Dorothy Killam announces her peaceful passing, which occurred on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at the Loch Lomond Village. Born in Campbellton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Thelma (Jennings) Hocquard, and wife to the late Hal Killam.
Carolyn was known for her artistry, especially her water-colour paintings. She was a founding member of both the Studio 5 Gallery and the RCS Art Show. Along with her love of art she was an avid gardener. She spent many years as an X-Ray Technician and later became the Executive Director of Hospice Saint John. Carolyn had the kindest soul and made everyone feel like they were the most important person around. Her kindness will truly be her legacy.
Carolyn is survived by her daughters Kimberly Killam Brown and Cindy Killam (Jules); grandchildren Katy Brown (Justin Chatterton), Colton Brown, Meaghan Goeb (Antoine Gaumont) and Lucas Goeb; great-grandchildren Ava Brown and Benjamin Chatterton; sister-in-law Ann Marie Hocquard; niece Sandra Hocquard and Nephew James Hocquard (Sue).
Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother James, Peter, and David Hocquard.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Loch Lomond Village – Cedar House for their care and compassion for Carolyn.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424). A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Kennebecasis Yacht Club on August 14, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dying With Dignity Canada would be appreciated.
