Carol Faye Walsh (Mercer) passed away peacefully at age 85 on August 11th 2023, at St. Claire’s Mercy Hospital in St. John’s, NL, in the presence of her family.
Born November 10th 1937, Carol lived a long and fulfilling life, owning many titles, but she was no prouder to be called ‘Mom’, ‘Nan’ and ‘Nanny Carol’.
Carol is predeceased by husband John (Jack) Walsh, parents Lewis & Gladys Mercer, brother Noel Mercer and parents-in-law Stephen & Annie Walsh.
Left to mourn with cherished memories are sons Randy (Lynn) of Gander and Rick (Ledona) of Gambo, siblings Joy (Robert Janes) and Bonita (J. Maritz) of Gander, Colleen (John Clarke) of Ottawa, and Keith (Louise) Mercer of St. John’s, grandchildren Keshia and Brittany (Nicholas) of Gambo, and Jeremy (Jazlynn) of Gander, great-grandchildren Davina, Damon, Charles, and Annabella, of Gambo, life-long friend Beryl Boland, and many other extended family and friends.
Mom loved her family and friends unconditionally and selflessly putting all others ahead of herself, as evident by the many Community Organizations that she served.
She will be remembered with many treasured memories and will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
We will be accepting family and friends at Stacey’s Funeral Home, Monday August 14th 2023 2 – 4PM and 7 – 9PM. The family service will take place Tuesday August 15th 2023 at 2PM. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery. Flowers will be generously accepted and/or donations can be made to the family.
