Obituary of Carl Leon Amos Main
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Carl Main announces his passing, which occurred on August 26th, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Carl was born on October 2nd, 1949, to the late Carl and Rhona (Durley) Main.
Carl is survived by his partner Gwendolyn “Huggie” Gillis Bannister, and his beloved brothers and sisters Lucy (Allan Marshall), Roxanna, Bobby (Marilyn), Terry (Marie), Peter (Ann-Marie), Margaret (Tim Wooden) as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Carl is predeceased by his brother John.
Carl was an avid fisherman and would always be seen with a fishing pole in his hand. He loved playing cards, especially poker. He loved family dinners.
The family would like to thank Corrine, Paul, Leona, the staff of 3BN of the Saint John Regional Hospital for their exceptional care of Carl.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, from 5 pm – 8 pm. Funeral Liturgy will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 9 am with interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 327 Westmoreland Road, Saint John. Donations in Carl’s memory may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital – Palliative Care Unit.
