Harold’s Obituary
Passed peacefully away at Glenbrook Lodge, St. John’s on September 30, 2024, Harold George Cave of New Melbourne, age 82 years.
Predeceased by parents: Gerald and Myrtle Cave; sisters: Leah Richards and Shirley Walsh.
Leaving to mourn, loving wife: Alice; son: Richard; granddaughter: Summer; special niece: Linda B. Richards, who was a weekly visitor at the home; brother-in-law: Gordon; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Harold was involved in community activities. He enjoyed church, men’s fellowship, and music coffeehouses anywhere he could participate. He was a school bus driver. He enjoyed working with his hands. He loved growing vegetables in his garden, which he continued into his stay at Glenbrook Lodge with his small garden there. He loved cod jigging with friends every chance he got. He loved music and playing guitar was his passion.
Thank you to the staff on the second floor at Glenbrook Lodge for their kindness and compassion throughout his stay. Special thanks to volunteer, Catherine, for going above and beyond for him, also to the staff that sat by his side during his final moments.
Visitation at Green’s Funeral Home, 272 Main Road, Winterton on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
Funeral service to take place on Friday, October 4 at 2:00 p.m. from Green’s Funeral Home.
Interment at United Cemetery, New Melbourne.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations in his memory may be made to the SPCA or charity of one’s choice.
