Matilda Catherine O’Neill, R.N.
May 30, 1947 – June 1, 2024

Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, June 1, following a brief illness, Matilda (Tilley) O’Neill, formerly of Fermeuse. She is predeceased by her parents Constantine and Mary O’Neill.
Left to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories is her daughter Melony (Kim Cooper) and her grandson, Benjamin. Also leaving to mourn is her brother Michael (Toni) and nieces and nephews: Susan (Ian), Cortney (Lindoura), Maegan (Barry), Katie (Kirk), Adam (Danielle) and their families. Matilda also leaves behind a multitude of friends from her many years of working at the Waterford Hospital and her years of living at Blackshire Court on Blackmarsh Road.
A special thank you is extended to the staff of 4 North B at the Health Sciences Centre for their incredible care and compassion.
At Matilda’s request, cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Apostles Church, Renews on Tuesday, June 4 at 11:00 a.m., with an inurnment to follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Fermeuse. A reception to honour her life will be held at In Da Loop restaurant, Fermeuse, following the inurnment.
In Matilda’s memory, please donate to a charity of one’s choice or perform an act of kindness, as she always felt there was far too little kindness in this world.
