Aged 78 years
Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving family at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, January 6th, 2024.
Born in Corner Brook and moved to St. John’s at 18. Joined the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary at the young age of 19 where he served proudly for 25 years. Throughout his life he was an avid sports fan and a member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteer with St. Vincent De Paul.
Predeceased by his parents, Genevieve & Cyril; Brothers Karl and Gerry and extended family passed before him.
Leaving to mourn with fond, loving memories, wife Donna of 54 years; children: Corey (Paulette), Dana (Craig) and Danielle; Grandchildren, his pride and joy: Cole, Keegan, Caleb and Kailey and his trusted friend Tony. Not to be left out his favourite German ‘Police’ dogs Xylo and Yuska.
His siblings, Bernice (Ron); Madelyn (Tony); Michael (Barbara) and his Brother and Sister in Laws; Basil (Jean); Barb, Peggy (John); Charlie (Theresa); John (Beverly); Brenda (Jack) and a large circle of cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
With gratitude, Dr. Michael Bautista and Rhonda, The Nurses and Doctors at Mount Pearl Square Dialysis and all the staff at St. Clare’s 7 East.
Cremation has taken place. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. As per Dave’s wishes there will be no visitation. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 12:30pm from Caul’s Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Vincent De Paul Society – St. Kevin’s Parish.
You can be sure he will always have a love hate relationship with his Yankees and continue to rewrite the rule book on card playing.
