Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Chester John Noseworthy announces his peaceful passing at the Health Sciences Center in St. John’s on September 30th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Chester was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Cecelia Noseworthy; his brother George; his sister Carol Anne; and his in-laws, Mina and Cyril Sullivan. He was also predeceased by his brothers-in-law Wayne and Cyril Jr. – who was his best friend and Charlie Strugnell.
Leaving to mourn with broken hearts and a lifetime of memories are his wife, Irene (Sullivan); daughters, Mona Jordan (Chris) and Tracy Moores (Rick); grandchildren Brittney Jordan (Mitchell) and Tyler Jordan (Megan); Kristen McCabe (Connor) and Courtney Meehan (Josh); and his precious great-granddaughter, River. Also mourning his loss are his brother and sister-in-law, Diane and Chris Sullivan; sisters-in-law Rosalind Sullivan and Marie Strugnell; and a large circle of family and friends.
Chester was an avid outdoorsman. His passions included hunting, fishing, and taking drives down through “the country”. He spent roughly 20 happy years at Kilmory Resort with his family—a summer tradition that will continue on with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, with a fishing rod in his hand and wearing blue coveralls.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nursing staff in the Emergency Department at the Health Sciences Centre for their exceptional care and compassion.
By request, there will be no visitation. A private service will be held at Caul’s Chapel in Torbay, with inurnment to follow at Pouch Cove Memorial United Church Cemetery.
