Kelly Canning Obituary
Kelly Bertha Canning was born March 16, 1971, to Leslie and Annie Keefe of Newville. After the passing of her father, her mother remarried Donald Holmes of Seldom, who she loved very much. Kelly and her husband Whylie Canning would have celebrated 30 years of marriage on October 29. Kelly loved her cats Fluffy and Cuddles. She served her church faithfully as Sunday School Director and other ministries for many years. Though she was forced to begin using a wheelchair in 2009, this did not hinder her faith as she continued to attend church in her wheelchair. In 2022, North Haven Manor, became her new home. It is here she made wonderful friends with her loving nurses. On September 1, 2024, at James Peyton Memorial Regional Health Centre, Gander, NL she went home with her Savior. Kelly’s family sends a heartfelt thanks to her care team at North Haven Manor for their professionalism and love towards her, her faithful homecare workers, her church family who reached out in a time of need, and her Pastor, Russell and Katie Porter.
Kelly is predeceased by her parents, Leslie Keefe and Annie Keefe-Holmes.
Left with fond and loving memories are her husband Whylie Canning, stepfather Donald (Daphne) Holmes, her care team at North Haven Manor as well as extended family and friends.
Resting at Salem Pentecostal Church, Cottlesville, NL. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the church on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 2 p.m.
Donations in Kelly’s memory may be given to the family. A charity will be determined later.
