Romona Kendall Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Romona Denise “Dede” Kendall announce her sudden passing on Monday, January 8th, 2024 at the age of 53 years.
Born in Etobicoke, Ontario to Mary Deborah (née Hynes) and Fintan Joseph Kendall on February 9th, 1970, Romona was the second born to a family of four and was raised in both Ontario and Newfoundland.
Dede, as she was affectionately known, was a fierce, bold and strong willed woman who danced to the beat of her own drum. She was known for being extremely independent, headstrong, and living her life unapologetically. She took on the world with the sense of “What you see is what you get.”
Despite her tough exterior and fierceness, she was equally kind hearted and caring, incredibly down to earth and relatable, and one of the most hardworking and loyal people anyone could ever meet. She was often described as a giving person and was known to be one of the most helpful people, no matter the situation. It was assured that any time spent with her would undoubtedly lead to a fit of laughter and huge smiles around the room, because she was an absolute riot to be around.
Dede served as one of the sparks that kept energy within our families, co-workers and friends lives that make us feel happy and carefree. Her community involvement in Sheaves Cove, the place she called home highlighted her willingness to help those around her.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories: her son Kyle Kendall; sisters: Melisa ((Keith) Kendall, Rebecca (Sheldon) Reddigan; brother Kevin (Tina) Kendall; 5 nieces and nephews; 3 great nieces; and 1 great-nephew; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends. She will also be missed by her work family at the Building Depot who treated her incredibly well.
A private service will be held. The family will be providing a livestream of the funeral service.
Her stories will continue through the years as we remember her. We know they will definitely bring smiles to our faces, hearty laughs and sometimes, a tear in our eyes.
