Martin Quinn Obituary
With immense sadness, we announce that Martin John Quinn, aged 46, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024.
Predeceased by his parents: Dianna and John Quinn, and his beloved sister, Monica.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories are his devoted wife, Jill (Hodder), and their greatest blessings: Rowan (17), Elizabeth (15), and Liam (12). Also mourning are his much-loved family in England, including his Mum, Linda, and siblings: Kirsty (Mark Springate), Jenny (Justin Heath), Lorraine, and Neil (Dowe Parchment), along with nieces and nephews: Ben, Chloe, and Amber, Annabelle and Adam, Kate and Daisy, and his special Aunt Dorothy. He will forever be remembered by his in-laws: John and Marie Hodder, Duane and Gina Hodder, and Kerri Hodder, along with nieces and nephews Jessica, Morgan, and John Hodder and Maria Higgins.
Martin’s ability to make others laugh with his dry sense of humor and affinity for exaggerating his British sensibility will live on in their memories and hearts forever. Martin leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and hard work cherished by those privileged to know him.
In 2006, Martin moved from England to Canada, where he forged a life alongside his Newfoundland bride. While embracing the Canadian experience, he retained his steadfast British spirit, passionately debating everything from the Monarchy to Brexit whenever the occasion arose. An enthusiast of Formula 1 racing, Arsenal FC, and England’s National Rugby team, Martin wholeheartedly cheered on his favorite teams. Among his favorite players were unquestionably Rowan, Elizabeth, and Liam, who now carry forward his love for Rugby.
Martin was lauded for his remarkable work ethic and rose through the ranks to become a Master Electrician on mega projects in Newfoundland and Alberta. He took immense pride in providing a good life for his wife and children, and his commitment to this goal was unwavering.
A service will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home ‘s Mount Pearl Chapel 73 Commonwealth Ave. at 2 pm on Sunday, January 7th, 2024, followed by a celebration of Martin’s life at their family home.

That is forever England.”
