Kirsten V. Byrne Obituary
Kirsten Byrne (nee Amanda Doyle) passed away on Tuesday, December 12th , 2023 at the Health Sciences Centre with her family and best friend Cayleigh by her side, following a brief battle with cancer. She was born December 22nd, 1989 to father Edward Reddy and mother Theresa Doyle. The most important thing about her is that she became a loving mother to Raphael Byrne in July 2015, and recently after falling in love with the town of Corner Brook, and surroundings, got her dream wedding and became wife to Jeffrey Byrne on August 1st, 2023, whom she leaves behind.
Early in life Kirsten, found happiness and comfort in Japanese Culture and Anime Culture, which lead to all things fantasy, and further expressing herself in the community. Her love of Steam Punk and with the help from Jeffrey, she adventured into a new chapter of her life as a business owner. It started with just a few products, a single convention and the name Valkara Attire, which thanks to her many repeat customers and five conventions, became Tied Up. Kirsten’s hope and dream was to attend large cons with friends and her new family.
It was only recently that her family and friends had grown, with her marriage came a brother-in-law Devyn, sister-in-law Jasmine and parents-in-law Patricia and Terry, and new family in Irishtown who accepted her without hesitation. George & Joan Anderson, Ralph Byrne and the extended Byrne family, along with Ed and Tanya Langer.
She also found a symbolic older sister roll with her relationships with her best friends: Sara, Cayleigh, Faith, Josh and Nick, helping them grow and avoid making mistakes in life. She will also be missed by her beloved cats; Ryuk and Freya. As Jeff was the glue that kept Kirsten together, Kirsten was the glue that kept them together.
Her family extends even across Canada, including her step mother Heather McRae, brothers; Liam and Logan who loved her dearly, grandparents; Ned and Barb Reddy and Josephine (Jerry deceased) Doyle, she is also remembered by her aunts; Marina, Karen, Anne-Marie, and Tammy, and uncles; Jerry, Vincent, Karl and Randy, who held important places in her heart.
Cremation has taken place, the family will receive visitors at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl. Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 17th and Monday, December 18th, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A celebration of Kirsten’s Life will be held on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 at 11:00 am.
