Donald Boyd Pope
November 17, 1935 – August 14, 2024
Surrounded by his children and children-in-law, and holding hands with his beloved wife of 66 years (sweethearts for 73 years), Don passed peacefully away on August 14, 2024.
Predeceased by his parents Parmenas and Irene Pope of Stone’s Cove, Fortune Bay, and other much loved family and friends who have gone before.
Left with broken hearts and cherished memories, the love of his life and life-time dancing partner, his wife he adored, Carrie (Caroline); his four children he cherished, and their spouses he welcomed into his heart and treated as his own – sons Barry (Pauline) and Terry (Kim), Daughters Dorothy (Craig) and Wanda (Rob); The joys of his life and much loved 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Also left to mourn his loss are his brothers Cyril and Warren (Phyllis); his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Thank you to the staff at St. Clare’s 4 West for your compassion, care and support.
There will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place and a private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society NL or a charity of your choice.
