It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of our loving son, husband, father, brother and uncle, Craig Stapleton, aged 54.
Predeceased by his big brother Clyde and father Peter Stapleton.
Leaving to mourn with fond beautiful memories, his beloved Mother Mary Stapleton (Jim Snook); His wife and best friend Michelle Bailey; Children: Kristen, Dillon, Benjamin, Zachary and Hope (Jenna). Siblings: Geraldine Andrews, Don (Rhonda), Robert (Karen), Diane Hall (Dave); Nieces and nephews: Lynette, Janine, David, Candace, Matthew, Robbie, Ashley, Nikita, Kyle, Cassie, Wea, Fate, and godson Nicholaz; Great neice’s and nephews Brady, Katie, Julia, Gabriel, Jacob, Isabella, Sophia, Jasmine, Adrian, and Allie .Mother-in-law Jeanette Bailey; Brother-in-law Mike Bailey (Melanie); and a large circle of extended family and friends. Craig also loved his precious puppies Molly, Lily, Boots, Louis, Kate and grand puppy Ru.
Craig spent some time as an instructor at Keyin College and then in 1993 dedicated his professional career to Workplace NL. It is evident just how much he was respected and loved by everybody that he worked with. Coworkers became friends, friends became family.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the amazing doctors and nurses at the Health Sciences Centre CVICU and ICU departments for your care during this difficult time.
In his last selfless act on earth, Craig was an organ donor. We, as a family, are comforted in our loss knowing that countless others have been given a second chance at life thanks to his precious gift.
Craig lived life to the fullest and his family was his greatest joy.
He was happiest while in the sunny south enjoying time on the beach and spending time with his friends: Brian & Paula Clarke, Susan Furlong & Ern Learning, Danielle & Keith Noseworthy, and Jim & Gayle Hudson.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 9th from 12-9 p.m. at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue. Funeral service will be held from Barrett’s Memorial Chapel on Thursday January 11 at 11 a.m. with internment to follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations in Craig’s memory may be made to Paw2love Dog Rescue by e-transfer to paw2love11@gmail.com and please note in memory of Craig Stapleton.
When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. May it always be five o’clock somewhere! Cheers Craig.
A Celebration of Craig’s life will be held after the service on January 11 at The Old Mill on 271 Brookfield Road.
