Ann MacLellan Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Michele MacLellan (nee Ivany). Ann slipped away peacefully surrounded by her adoring family on Sunday, June 2nd at the Dr L.A Miller Centre.
Ann spent this last year battling cancer. She faced all obstacles and challenges with great courage. She remained strong until the very end.
Ann is predeceased by her father, Alfred Ivany.
Left to mourn with heavy hearts but cherished memories are her loving boys, husband Doug; and sons, Kurt and Andrew; devoted daughter, Robyn; son-in-law, Luke; mother, Patricia; sisters, Pearl, Charlene, Julia, and Dawn; brother, Rod; and several nieces and nephews and other family. We also cannot forget to mention all of her work family-past and present-from Belbin’s Grocery, she missed you all dearly this past year. A heartfelt thank you is extended to Ann’s loyal sister, Charlene. Charlene remained steadfast throughout Ann’s illness and provided Ann with great company.
Despite Ann’s petite stature, she was someone who wasn’t afraid to stand up for herself and speak her mind. Most people who knew Ann will say she was well known for her firecracker and tell it like it is personality, which people admired and appreciated her for.
We, the family, would like to send deep thanks and gratitude to all the physicians, nurses, and support staff of both 4 North A of the Health Sciences Centre and the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. L.A Miller Centre for their gentle care provided to Ann during her final weeks.
Cremation has taken place as per Ann’s request. The family will receive visitors at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Thursday June 6, 2024 from 2:00-9:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held from Barrett’s Chapel on Friday, June 7 at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
