Thea C. Maxson age 19 of Elmira, NY passed away on Sunday July 14, 2024. Thea was born May 10, 2005 in Elmira, NY . She was a graduate of Horseheads High School Class of 2023 and BOCES Conservation Program. Thea was a Plumber’s and Steamfitters Apprentice, member of US Local 81. and employed by Frye & Campbell , Inc. She enjoyed music and was on the track team in high school. Thea is survived by her parents; Kevin and Haley (Verbanic ) Maxson; her mother Justine Maxson; brother and fiancé: Layne Maxson and Caelin Steadman and their children Millie and Roman; sister: Emily Green ; maternal grandmother: Cheryl “Shay” Verbanic; uncle Alan Maxson; aunts and uncles: Timothy and Kathy Maxson and their daughter Paige ; Jennifer and Victor Pignataro and their son Tristan ; special friends: Andrew Thornton and Jennifer French; many extended family members, friends, and co-workers. Thea loved music and animals, especially cats. She was inspired by art and nature. Thea was so proud to be a plumbing and steamfitter apprentice, where she excelled quickly. Thea was loved by everyone that met her. Although her life was short, Thea touched the lives of so many and will be missed greatly .Thea will be remembered as a beautiful, strong, smart, and compassionate young lady with such a big and caring heart. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET HORSEHEADS, NY on Tuesday July 23, 2024 from 5 to 7 PM. Thea’s Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours.
